The Finnish pagan metal band VORNA will release their second full length album ”Ei valo minua seuraa” (transl. ”No Light Follows Me”) on 4th December 2015. The album will be released through Inverse Records.

The album has been mixed by Tuomas Kokko from Electric Fox Studios (e.g. Swallow the Sun, Ghost Brigade) and mastered by Jaakko Viitalähde from Virtalähde Mastering (e.g. Black Crucifixion, Alghazanth, Ghost Brigade). The album cover artworks have been designed by Jarno Lahti from Kaamos Illustration & Design (e.g. Pain, Hypocrisy, Before the Dawn).

The lead-vocalist Vesa Salovaara shared a few words about the album recordings and about the actual album:

”This year has most certainly been Vorna’s busiest one to date and the whole album making process was quite intensive experience as well. The song material was constantly evolving from the earliest demo sessions in April all the way to the mixing which took place in July. As a result we think we’re holding our most mature, diverse and also, in a way, darkest
album yet. Still, neither risks nor untamed intuitive ideas were avoided and we believe that one might find even somewhat surprising shades from it’s depths. Lyrically ”Ei valo minua seuraa” is dealing with quite universal and timeless themes. The story is fundamentally about a
journey towards mental or spiritual equilibrium which is being torned by contradictive identities and generally estranged world.

”Jälkemme” represents the more straightforward approach of the album and that’s one of the reasons we chose it to be the first single. It’s quite a beast of a song and we believe it has a lot to offer in live environment. Come to our show and witness it yourself!”

1. Harmaudesta (Away from Grey)
2. Jälkemme (Heritage)
3. Itsetön (Soul Shriven)
4. Sieluni varjossa (In the Nightside of Self)
5. Vaipunut (Of Life Descended)
6. Yksin (Alone)
7. Hiljaiset rauniot (Silent Ruins)

Ashtar - Ilmasaari
Ashtar is a duo from Basel, Switzerland, formed in 2012 by the drummer of Phased and the ex-bassist/vocalist from shEver. They create a haunting, magic blend of Black Metal, Sludge and Doom ? an intuitive, intense hybrid of down-tuned archaic riffing, heavy bass and desperately sick vocals with layered, eerie-saturnine melodies, telling about abyss and beauty, melancholy and chaos.

Ashtar’s debut album «Ilmasaari» was recorded between December 2013 and April 2014 at OSA Crypt in Greifensee, Switzerland. It has been mixed and mastered by Greg Chandler (Esoteric, Lychgate) at Priory Recording Studios in Birmingham, UK. Czar Of Bullets is proud to release «Ilmasaari» today. Along with this CD release there will be a limited tape edition via the French label Antiq. The vinyl version is going to see the light of day in early autumn through Throne Records.

Resurrecturis publish last video in live cover series: Mayhem’s “Deathcrush” from the “Death to Death Metal” concert

In memory of Øystein “Euronymous” Aarseth (22/03/1968 – 10/08/1993) and Per “Dead” Yngve Ohlin (16/01/1969 – 8/04/1991),
Here’s the story: fourth and last instalment in the series of live video covers that Resurrecturis have released over the last two months on their YouTube video channel as a tribute to passed away greats of the extreme metal scene.

The last video cover to be released is by the founding fathers of Norwegian Black Metal, the infamous Mayhem, whose vocalist Dead and guitarist Euronymous died horrible deaths in 1991 and 1993.

“I first heard Mayhem in 1986 through a friend who was doing a fanzine named Cerebral Haemorrhage. The production was raw, the drums were loud and the vocals were otherworldly. Through Slayer Magazine and a few other information outlets I followed the evolution of the band and their morbid philosophy. For sure they were different, more extreme and more committed than most. A bunch of charismatic lunatics with an evil agenda!
The demise of Dead and Euronymous was undoubtedly a tragedy for the extreme metal scene. I can only try and imagine what the two would have created!” (Carlo Strappa / Resurrecturis)

The footage comes from a festival organized in 2011 to remember the musical legacy of RJ Dio. That night Resurrecturis chose to celebrate an entire breed of musical terrorists through their setlist. The audience was assaulted with a merciless dose of Death, Terrorizer, Vader and Mayhem classics. Each song in the setlist had been carefully selected to celebrate some of the greatest, untimely deceased, originators of death metal, black metal and grindcore.

Resurrecturis line up on the video is composed by:
Carlo Strappa (g), Enrico Tiberi (v), Marco Raccichini (g), Manuel Coccia (b), Alessandro Vagnoni (d).

HELLS HEADBANGERS announces the signing of long-running American black metal cult DEMONIC CHRIST. Widely respected in the international underground and led by ex-Mythic frontwoman Dana Duffey, DEMONIC CHRIST released the classic Punishment for Ignorance debut in 1995, long ahead of the curve and many years before “USBM” became well-known nomenclature. And although they’ve been quiet on the release front since 1996, DEMONIC CHRIST are currently finalizing their new, second album, which will be their first for HELLS HEADBANGERS. Entitled The Great Purge, The first taste of their trademark blasphemy ‘n’ desecration can be heard here:

To celebrate this long-awaited return, DEMONIC CHRIST will embark upon a North American tour in November with Ptahil as direct support at all shows. Branded “Summoning the Serpent Fire,” the tour will culminate with a vaunted appearance at this year’s Messe Des Morts festival.

HELLS HEADBANGERS announces the signing of legendary black/death cult ABOMINATOR. After eight years in the abyss, Australian heretics ABOMINATOR shall soon return with their fifth album of demonic black/death metal carnage entitled Evil Proclaimed, their first album for HELLS HEADBANGERS. Having learned their lessons well from a devilish hiatus, the arch nemesis is reborn with a furious sound that owes much to the primordial early days of the band, and yet still upholds the spirit of the gods of black chaos. Release date to be announced shortly, but the first song titles to be revealed are “The Brimstone Nucleus,” “Invoker of the Four Winds,” and “Black Mass Warfare.” Await the loathsome atmosphere of cosmic devastation!!!

IN SILENT: Details debut album – premiere May 25, 2013!

Polish quartet IN SILENT prepared self-released debut album “Potępienie” (Damanation). The release date is scheduled for May 25, 2013.
The material was recorded in late April and early July 2012, the Screw Factory Studio. Implementation, mix and mastering a whole took a recognized manufacturer of Janusz Bryt, known for his work Behemoth, Blindead, Stillborn, Devilyn or Witchmaster. Content publishing is seven compositions in the style of raw and brutal death / black metal.

1.Tydzień patriotów
3.Czerwony parszywy chłam
4.Necro fucker

The material has been prepared and recorded in the following composition:
Konrad “Buba” Ozdoba – guitar, vocal
Marcin “Mal” Skoczylas – guitar
Damian “Młynarz” Maciąg – bass guitar, vocal
Wojtek “Suchy” Mizera – drums

The title track can be heard here:

IN SILENT began in 1996 as an initiative of Marcin Skoczylas (guitar) and Konrad Ozdoba (guitar & vocals). Soon new people joined: Tomasz Nogaj (bass), Marcin Bęczkowski (drums), Anna Jędrzejewska (vocals) and Dariusz Chmiel (keyboards). After a few months of rehearsing the band played some gigs in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski and Ożarów.

1997 was the year of next gigs and the first visit in AMBS Studio. The first demo entitled “In silent” was recorded. This material got good reviews in such music magazines as for example Metal Hammer. The music on the demo was a mixture of death and doom metal.

In 1998 after a tragic death of Darek his place behind keyboards took Artur Mizera. Another change in the line-up was a new drummer. Wojtek Mizera joined the band and his coming has influenced the music face of the group. With his presence another material “Czwarta część mgnienia” was recorded.

In 1999 the band entered Promedia Studio with the next material “…bloody harvest of the nature…” and visible changes in music style. The music started to evolve into more brutal sounds. In this material keyboards were handled by Marcin Opałka. As a result of the recorded demo, the band increased their gigging activity. The new millennium was a further progress towards the most extreme kinds of metal and even more gigs. The following years the band concentrated on the new material and a quite long break was caused by Konrad’s departure.

The year 2009 is finally the full line up and the effect of a demo recorded again in AMBS Studio. The summer of 2011 Thomas Nogaj left for personal reasons IN SILENT ranks, and his place was taken by Damian Maciag bassist and vocalist Carnage Of Trident.

Between April and July 2012 with the participation of Janek Bryt Screw Factory Studio Dębica material was recorded for the first official album – “Potępienie”. The material contains seven tracks that oscillate in the brutal death-black metal.

Konrad “Buba” Ozdoba – guitars, vocal
Marcin “Mal” Skoczylas – guitars
Damian “Młynarz” Maciąg – bass, vocal
Wojtek “Suchy” Mizera – drums

More about IN SILENT:

Cradle of Filth’s return to supreme infernal decadence with new masterwork ‘The Manticore And Other Horrors’.

The title of this, Cradle of Filth’s tenth studio full-length, can be likened to a bestiary, a collection of stories on Monsters; personal demons, Chimeras, literary fiends and world-enslaving entities to blame but a few, Manticore being the ravening title track. It is a song about a beautiful mythological horror that comes to be feared as the disfigurehead of foreign occupation in the Indian provinces.

The songs ‘Illicitus’ and ‘Pallid Reflection’ bare the sweet ingredients of vampirism and lycanthropy the wicked ‘For Your Vulgar Delectation’ and ‘Frost On her Pillow’ are woven perversely into grim fairytales, whilst classic, monumental tracks like ‘The Abhorrent’ and ‘Siding With The Titans’ both extol tentacular Lovecraftian values.

The album itself possesses an altogether new atmosphere for the band, incorporating a heavier, faster NWOBBM (New Wave of British Black Metal) punk vibe that is both current and cruel, blended with ornate orchestration and the quirky immediateness of 2000’s Midian opus.

Recorded in eight weeks at both Springvale and Grindstone studios (where it was also mixed by Scott Atkins), Suffolk, the album is testament to the longevity of The ‘Filth, as not only does it reek of Cradle’s (feared or revered) brand of delicious metal vamperotica, but this thoroughly modern album places the band firmly in fresh killing fields anew.

Singer Dani Filth had this to say on the new album:
‘This is our tenth commandment in metal. We have diversified and kept alive the spirit of this band and breathed it into something that I can proudly say, slays like an absolute motherf**ker. The Manticore is coming… Long live the filth!’

Cradle of Filth is also set to spread their darkness upon European lands with a tour throughout November & December.

The special limited edition of ‘The Manticore & Other Horrors’ contains 2 bonus tracks in the shape of Nightmares Of An Ether Drinker, and Death, The Great Adventure, and is presented in deluxe digibook format with 28 page booklet.
