Tom Araya and Kerry King were interviewed by Rolling Stone magazine when they played the “Big 4” show at the Yankee Stadium in New York this Wednesday (September 14th). Kerry King revealed that the band had already been rehearsing with Jeff Hanneman for 2 weeks but decided that Gary Holt of Exodus should play the “Big 4” show since Jeff’s playing wasn’t tight enough.

It was also mentioned that the band is trying to get Jeff back on stage for the “Fun Fun Fun Fest” in Austin, TX which will be held from November 4th – 6th 2011. Jeff Hanneman had to sit out all of the bands tours this year due to an infection on his right arm caused by a spider bite. Although not fully recovered he made a surprise appearance at the “Big 4” festival in Indio, CA on April 23rd where he played the last two songs of the set “South Of Heaven” and “Angel Of Death”.
