OVERKILL will embark on its 25th anniversary North American tour, dubbed Killfest 2010, in April/May 2010. Support on the trek will come from VADER, GOD DETHRONED, WARBRINGER, EVILE and WOE OF TYRANTS.

J.Viewz Brings their Modern Jazz Style to New York’s Legendary Blue Note Jazz Club
Deadwebzine News Center – http://www.dwz.eu5.org/ ___+++
[New York, NY – March 22, 2010] – For one night only, THE BLUE NOTE JAZZ CLUB, located in the heart of New York’s West Village, will bring an inventive type of jazz and blues to the venue. J.VIEWZ LIVE is very excited to be honored with an APRIL 5th engagement at the club, which has hosted the likes of Ray Charles, Sarah Vaughn, Lionel Hampton, and Dizzy Gillespie. With two sets at 8:00PM and 10:00PM, J.Viewz will play the sound that has made them one of the most exciting new acts today. However, this performance will be a different type of J.Viewz Live with the set being divided between electro free-style jamming and soulful acoustic playing – a “Plugged vs. Unplugged” type of breakdown. The mellow-jazzy-jammy vibe of J.Viewz live mixed with the intimacy of The Blue Note makes this show the Monday show to see.

Jonathan Dagan, Brooklyn-based Israeli producer of J.Viewz explains, “We love working in the studio, and this period is a hectic studio one, but it’s great to go outside and work on some special night, especially like this one at the Blue Note. We’re going to have two sets that we’ve never done before – it’s going to be a special acoustic jam on the basis of the electronic songs which we usually perform with. So we’ll have all the electronic equipment with us, but the live band will probably come to life in a different way, more loose, more laid back, especially for the Blue Note.”

Using everything from breakbeat to Jazz, Electro, & Reggae, the award winning electronica project features lead vocalist Noa Lembersky & MC Urijah, while presenting a unique combination of live instruments, vocals, electronic drumbeats, live drums, and turntables. J.Viewz arrives at the Blue note just after launching “WORK IN PROGRESS” – an innovative project presenting the making of the next J.Viewz album, song by song. The live act will also present the next single of ‘Work in Progress’. The first single off the new album, “Come Back Down” premiered successfully on Spinner.com Friday, March 11th. UK Metal band Sacred Mother Tongue begin filming their new video today and have issued the following update:

“It’s been a hell of a long time since our last video release and after our misfortune with the last attempt we have been planning it carefully. Of course when Two Thousand Eight Hundred was made we really had no money or in fact no idea what we were doing, so it was a small miracle that it came out ok, and actually made it on screen with Scuzz and MTV2. So our follow up video for Anger on Reflection was on a bigger budget and was meant to be the business… however due to directorial differences between the film makers and ourselves, we decided to pull the video from You Tube after a short two week evaluation period and it was never submitted to the TV stations.”

“So this time we have a different approach, instead of having zero input to the video as before, this time I’m taking control. The video will feature a song from the debut album ‘The Ruin of Man’. The track may not be the obvious choice commercially but it just feels right to do it this way. Thanks to everyone who’s made suggestions about what song to use, it all helps and obviously some of you were right. So… what track will it be? Answers on a blogcard please.”

“We start shooting on Monday and estimate a release around the end of April so watch this space. I think the premier will be on Scuzz TV even before we release it on You Tube but I’ll let you know when we have a date in mind. As I said I’ve taken control of things this time, which means I’ve not only written and story boarded the video, but I’ve co-ordinated the whole thing, and with the help of film crew ‘BearLeft’, I will be directing the whole process. My debut, can’t wait.”

“The Lovely guys at Blackstar and Ampeg have helped us out with some gear and to top that, no self respecting metal head makes a video without a sexy chick in it; and trust me, I am self respecting!”

“That’s all for now folks, keep checking back for more news about the video, have your best guess at what song we’re using. We’ve employed the services of King Billy – Super DJ, Chris Jacks to document the making of the video so watch out for some ‘behind the scenes’ shenanigans very soon.” Darrin South – Vocals.

Sacred Mother Tongue played the 2nd Stage at Download 2009 as well as Hammerfest, Hellfire 1+2, Hard Rock Hell festivals. They are just about to embark on their second UK headline tour having built a strong national following. Their debut album ‘The Ruin of Man’ received stunning reviews and has sold thousands of copies across Europe. http://www.myspace.com/sacredmothertongue

Regarding the album artwork, which can be viewed below, KEEP OF KALESSIN’s Obsidian C. stated, “The music on ‘Reptilian’ is more in your face and direct than before so we chose this cover and the title to emphasise that directness as well as focusing even more on the fantasy elemement in the band. This beast of an album is staring at you and it’s going straight for your throat!”

The band will play a few select shows in Norway in support of the release.

Confirmed dates so far:

May 15 – Rockefeller, Oslo (headlining show)

KEEP OF KALESSIN took third place in the grand final of the national Eurovision Song Contest called “Melodi Grand Prix” which was held on February 6 at the Spektrum in Oslo. The band performed a song called “The Dragontower”, which was originally written for the group’s next album but had to be shortened from 5:20 minutes to 3:00 minutes for the performance. The full, unedited track will, of course, appear on the upcoming KEEP OF KALESSIN CD.

Video footage of KEEP OF KALESSIN’s performance in the quarterfinals of the competition can be viewed below.
