Detroit Michigan’s spastic noise driven grind assult Sender Receiver has released a new song titled Faith Healer and artwork from their upcoming 7″ titled Savior.

The album was recorded by Dane Smith at Empire Productions in Roseville, Michigan while the artwork was provided by Mike from Destroyer Art. While an official release date has yet to be set Its due out in early 2012 on Give Praise for vinyl and Mannequin Rein for cd/digital.

“We’ve had a crazy last year, took some time off from touring to do real life stuff like have kids, work, and focus on writing music. Were getting back in the saddle and getting ready to get things back in full swing. We are about to drop this new ep in the coming months, its a good example of where were going. Houwitser is proud to announce that their original singer and frontman Mike van Mastrigt is back in their line-up. Mike already teamed up for some shows.

Together with their new drummer Marten van Kruijssen and frontman Mike van Mastrigt, Houwitser will march on to Russia this February to do some shows. The new line-up is writing songs for the 6th full length cd. More news about the progress and release of this album can be expected in the near future.

Biography:
Houwitser originally started in 1997 by Michel (ex-Sinister) and Aad (Sinister) completing the line-up with vocalist Mike (ex-Sinister) and bassplayer Theo (Hail of Bullets). The debut album’Death.. but not buried’ was released by Displeased Records in the spring of 1999 and got great reviews and good sales. The end of that year Houwitser parted with their singer Mike.
Houwitser’s second album ‘Embrace Damnation’ was recorded with vocalist Arjaan who left in 2001 and got replaced by Stan Blonk. Houwitser signed with Osmose Productions and ‘Rage inside the womb’ their third album saw the light of day in 2002. This was the start of a tour all over the entire European continent.
In 2004, after the release of the album ‘Damage assessment‘, the band split up. Displeased Records re-released the debut album ‘Death… but not buried’ with 7 bonus tracks and new artwork.

The split of Houwitser left a bad vibe with Michel and Stan. In 2008 the Dutch death metal-commandos wrote a new chapter in the history of Houwitser, with the rebirth of the ferocious Terror Legion. In 2009 Houwitser signed a new record deal with the American Sevared Records, who released in early 2010 the 5th full-length album of Houwitser ‘Bestial Atrocity’.
The Dutch death metal commandos are back to strike again, heavier and more brutal than ever! Marching over stages, blasting their thundering death metal. Watch out for Houwitser!

Formed in 1988, Buffalo born/Tampa raised Cannibal Corpse helped found, manipulate and transcend the very boundaries of death metal beginning with the scandalously controversial debut, Eaten Back To Life. Raising the eyebrows of inquisitive metalheads and incensed parents and politicians, the record – produced by Scott Burns at the now renowned Morrisound Studios – was more extreme and confrontational than anything the metal genre had ever known. As a result of the band’s brilliantly gruesome cover art, grisly lyrics and song titles like “Hammer Smashed Face,” “Meat Hook Sodomy” and “Addicted To Vaginal Skin,” follow-up records Butchered At Birth (1991) and Tomb Of The Mutilated (1992) were met with further contempt by the likes of such organized censorship leagues as the PMRC. In just three years, the sale of Cannibal Corpse merchandise was (temporarily) prohibited in Australia, Korea and New Zealand (in fact, the sale of Butchered At Birth and the performance of those three records is still forbidden in Germany). But dissuaded they were not.

Proving technical dexterity, diabolic vocal grunts and a penchant for serial killers, zombies and gore of all shapes, sizes and textures, Cannibal Corpse won over the hearts of many a metal extremist and have since become a harrowing household name. Since the bands inception they have sold millions of albums world wide and show no sign of slowing or bowing down to the ever changing metal genre. Massive tours throughout the U.S. and Europe as well as Australia and South America only underscored the band’s staying power…and all this with zero commercial radio presence and minimal video play (although the band did appear in the Hollywood blockbuster, Ace Ventura – Pet Detective).

The momentum continued with the 1996 release of Vile, the first Cannibal record to feature former Monstrosity throat George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher following the departure of Chris Barnes. Any skepticism over the new voice behind the mighty Corpse was quickly put to rest. Simply put, Vile slayed from beginning to end and became the first ever death metal record to enter the prestigious Billboard charts. Over the next few years, relentlessly touring, bolstered musicianship and progressively more potent recordings saw the band increase in popularity within the underground and beyond.

After the mass success of 2004′s The Wretched Spawn and some personnel changes (longtime guitarist Jack Owen fled the band in 2004 to carry on his commitments with his rock project, Adrift. Origin axe-master Jeremy Turner filled in for the band during their remaining tours that year before Malevolent Creation/Hate Plow/Solstice guitarist Rob Barrett, who played on Cannibal Corpse’s infamous releases The Bleeding and Vile records, rejoined the band as a fulltime member.), Cannibal Corpse has returned to the Death Metal frontlines with the pungently eloquent majesty that is Kill.

Simply titled but meticulously assembled, Kill was recorded with producer Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal/ex-Morbid Angel) at Mana Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida. The tenth record of their storied career, each track basks in its own claustrophobic abrasiveness and maniacal subject matter. From the onset of the fiery “The Time To Kill Is Now,” guitarists Barrett and Pat O’Brien, vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher, bassist Alex Webster and drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz pummel with a renewed sense of urgency. Fast, furious and scrupulously timed, the tune is a palpable reminder that Cannibal remains a force to be reckoned. “Make Them Suffer” sears with an old school Possessed vibe (a band to whom Cannibal has paid homage to on several occasions), while “Necrosadistic Warning,” replete with a barrage of blistering solo work by O’Brien whose guitar deftness is often underestimated, comes riddled with visions of zombies sexually gratifying themselves with the body parts of the beings they’ve slain. Other tracks like the telling “Five Nails Through The Neck,” “Death Walking Terror,” “Brain Removal Device” and instrumental closer “Infinite Misery” see the five-piece at their most cogent, both lyrically and musically.

Evocation signs worldwide deal with Century Media Records

Borknagar: Complete work on new studio album; Announce title and release dates!

Norwegian Avantgarde Metallers BORKNAGAR have finalized mixing duties for their upcoming studio album with Jens Bogren at acclaimed Fascination Street Studios (Opeth, Paradise Lost, Katatonia, etc.) in Sweden and have now checked in to announce that the long awaited new effort will be titled “Urd” and is to be released on March 26th, 2012 in Europe as well as March 27th, 2012 in North America via Century Media Records.

BORKNAGAR’s mastermind Øystein G. Brun has checked in with the following message:

“Well, our new album “Urd” was finished in mid December and all in all we spent about 6 months to record, produce and mix it. In the “Bork-World” this isn’t really long, but I can assure you that we have never before invested so much time, energy and effort into one single production. It has been a tough, yet inspiring ride. Since June 2011 I have constantly been working with this album, recording, editing and so forth – day and night. The same goes for my comrades, never before have we made an album where everybody in the band has been so heavily involved and dedicated as this time around. “Urd” is surely the peak of our musical journey so far and we are extremely proud to have made this giant of an album! It’s massive, it’s emotional, it’s fast, it’s slow, it’s epic, and it’s progressive…all the ingredients that we have crafted our musical world on! And not to mention the “golden threesome” on vocals (Vintersorg, Mr. Vortex and Lazare) really shines on this album…Do I need to say more?!”

Furthermore he explains the album title within the band’s historical context as follows:

“Our previous album was called “Universal” and where should we go after an album title with such a magnitude? Well, we decided to head back home to earth. We really wanted to get back to the core of the band, where it all started – the admiration and pondering about nature and mankind’s place therein. “Urd” is the name of one of the norns that according to northern mythology stands under Yggdrasill and weaves the lifeline of mankind. “Urd” is representing the past, while “Verdande” is representing the present and “Skuld” is representing the future. You might very well say that this is an ancient expression of what we today know as DNA. And I have always been very fascinated by the fact that parts and bits of our DNA actually derive from the very beginning of time. All living creatures are somewhat connected to the very first organic cell. That is some of the story behind the album title…”
